Who are we?
BPW Concordia SXM is an affiliate club of BPW International which is a non-partisan, non-profit organization of unlimited duration with voluntary membership and leadership:
- It does not discriminate on the basis of background or beliefs, and respects human rights.
- Its procedures are democratic, transparent and inclusive of all members.
- Its decision-making bodies are accountable to the members.
- Its funds are carefully managed and used to promote and achieve its aims.
Our Aims
BPW International aims to unite business and professional women in all parts of the world to
1.work for women's:
- economic independence
- equal opportunity and representation in economic, civil and political life.
- develop their professional and leadership potential.
- undertake lifelong education and training.
- use their abilities for the benefit of others, locally, nationally and internationally.
- for the elimination of all discrimination against women
- for human rights and the use of gender sensitive perspective
- world-wide networking and co-operation between business and professional women
- non-profit projects that help women gain economic independence.
- to present the views of business and professional women to international organizations, agencies, businesses, governments and civil society.
Our Mission

Some of BPW's pillars of advocacy include:
- Women on Boards
- Equal Pay
- Women Entrepreneurs Trade
- Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs and initiative of UN Women and UN Global Compact)
- Women in STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
To further underpin these initiatives, BPWI provides the framework that creates enabling environments for affiliate clubs such as BPWC through partnerships and collaborations. By thinking globally, opportunities are created locally. This allows Affiliates worldwide to be unified in common purpose and vision.
Why Join BPW Concordia Saint-Martin (BPWC)?
Membership in BPWC offers many opportunities and many benefits to women in our community. The club provides a “training ground” for developing leadership skills in a safe supportive environment, allowing members to build networks and create lasting friendships. By joining BPWC, members also automatically become members of BPW International. What does this mean for members?
- We have a network of global reach.
- We are more powerful working as a team than alone.
- We have permanent UN representation around the world that allows us to speak with one voice when big decisions are being made.
- Consultative status at the United Nations, which BPW International has held since 1947, carries the responsibility of reporting on the activities of our Affiliates worldwide. All members have the choice to participate at this level.
BPW members also enjoy the following benefits:
- Full access to Commission on the Status of Women (CSW)
- Accreditation to attend UN meetings at the Headquarters in New York, other offices including Vienna, Geneva and at Regional Commissions. The opportunity to work with other Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) from around the world; to participate in the decision-making process and promotion of, statements.
